Part I

Title: Fundraising 101 – When and how to start?
Time: 10:00 – 11:30

To develop any Fundraising Strategy, there needs to be a methodology; at Your Funding Network, we apply the methodology developed by Linda Lysakowski. Linda is the author of “Fundraising for the Genius” and “Raise More Money from your Business Community” and many other books. According to Linda’s methodology there are 5 chapters in Fundraising:

(1) What is Fundraising and Why is it important?

(2) Whose responsibility is Fundraising?

(3) Where do we find money?

(4) What do we need in place before we can effectively raise funds?

(5) What methods are used in fundraising?

Throughout this Master Class all five chapters of this methodology will be discussed, which provides a clear understanding on when and how to start developing a fundraising strategy.

Title: Fundraising 101 – Why and how to run an institutional audit and map out (already existing) opportunities?
Time: 12:30 – 14:00

Before getting started with developing a Fundraising Strategy, you need to know what is your status quo and what are your (already existing) options – that’s why there needs to be an “institutional audit” which includes (but not limited to) reviewing and assessing the status of the organizational funding, interviewing the involved parties, evaluating the status of communication (and the means of communication) between the institution and (prospective) target group, provides the basis for the plan.

By the end of this audit, you will be able to identify your existing opportunities as well as mapping out your prospective opportunities.

Part III

Title: Fundraising 101 – Where and how to get the low-hanging-fruits?
Time: 14:30 – 16:00

After learning about what needs to be in place to get started with your fundraising plan, and also mapping out what are your existing and prospective opportunities, it is time to aligning your organizational strategy with your fundraising plan. In this session we create a ‘working document’ that covers the following aspects:

(1) Annual Plan that includes internal and external events, call for proposals, membership fee withdrawals, etc;

(2) Human Resources/Infrastructure /Fundraising Techniques

(3) Public Relations Strategy to create awareness

(4) Budgeting for development, areas of responsibility

(5) Timeline

With this working-document you will be able to prioritise your efforts and start with picking the “low-hanging-fruits” for your organization.
